The Exa Nissan Dealer Team has pulled out of the remaining events in this season's Bridgestone Production Car Championship.

At Port Elizabeth in August the team debuted the new Nissan 370Z but it wasn't as competitive as the team hoped and it has decided to rather concentrate on doing development before racing it again.

Team principal Grant van Schalkwyk said the decision wasn't taken lightly. “While we have been encouraged by the progress so far with the all-new supercharged 370Z, there is still much to be done before it can compete on an equal footing with its established rivals from Audi, BMW and Subaru.

“I have met with team owner Nuno da Cunha and we have decided to withdraw from the production car championship with immediate effect to focus all our efforts on developing the 370Z for the 2012 season."

Good news for Production Cars is that Nieyaaz Modack and Kosie Swanepoel have been entered in older model Audi A4s which were previously raced by Johan Fourie and Tschops Sipuka.
